Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Doxofylline is a xanthine derivative with bronchodilatory activity but reduced adenosine‑receptor antagonism compared to theophylline. It inhibits phosphodiesterase, increasing intracellular cAMP and promoting smooth‑muscle relaxation with fewer CNS and cardiac side effects than classical xanthines.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in bronchodilation‑mechanism modelling, PDE‑inhibition assays, airway‑hyperreactivity research, and xanthine‑SAR pharmacology.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include nausea, tremor, mild tachycardia, insomnia and rare arrhythmias. Handle with xanthine‑bronchodilator precautions.
