Mechanism of Action
Disamide is a classI antiarrhythmic agent structurally related to other sodiumchannel blockers. It inhibits fast voltagegated Na⁺ channels in cardiac tissue, decreasing phase0 depolarization, slowing conduction velocity, and stabilizing myocardial excitability. This can suppress certain tachyarrhythmias by reducing ectopic automaticity.

Side Effects and Risks
Risks include proarrhythmia (QRS or QT changes), hypotension, negative inotropy, dizziness and GI upset. Handle with cardioactivedrug precautions.
