Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Dirithromycin is a macrolideclass prodrug that is hydrolysed in vivo to erythromycylamine, an active macrolide antibiotic. It binds the 50S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting translocation of peptidyltRNA and blocking bacterial protein synthesis. Its prodrug structure enhances acid stability and oral bioavailability compared with erythromycin.

Side Effects and Risks
