Mechanism of Action
Dioxidin (dioxidine) is a broadspectrum antimicrobial with activity against gramnegative and some grampositive organisms. Its mechanism involves interference with bacterial DNA synthesis, formation of intracellular free radicals, and disruption of membrane integrity.

Side Effects and Risks
Risks include nephrotoxicity, local irritation (topical), mutagenicity concerns in highdose models, and systemic toxicity with prolonged exposure. Handle with cytotoxicantimicrobial precautions.
