Mechanism of Action
Diloxanide furoate is a luminal amoebicide used against *Entamoeba histolytica*. It dissociates in the gastrointestinal tract into active diloxanide, which interferes with protozoal protein synthesis and cellmembrane function. The furoate ester improves palatability and stability.
