Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Dactinomycin (actinomycin D) is an antitumour antibiotic that intercalates between adjacent guaninecytosine base pairs in DNA. This prevents RNA polymerase movement, blocks transcription initiation, and induces DNA strand breaks. It is highly potent against rapidly dividing cells and is a classical tool for transcriptioninhibition research.
Benefits and Advantages
Used in transcriptionblockade studies, DNAintercalation modelling, apoptosis signalling research, pediatrictumour models, and topoenzyme interaction assays.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include profound myelosuppression, hepatotoxicity, mucositis, GI injury, cardiotoxicity and secondary malignancies. Handle with full cytotoxicagent containment.
Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
