Mechanism of Action
Cyclopentolate hydrochloride is an antimuscarinic agent that blocks M and M receptors in the eye, producing mydriasis and cycloplegia by inhibiting sphincter pupillae and ciliary muscle contraction. It penetrates ocular tissues rapidly.

Side Effects and Risks
Risks include blurred vision, photophobia, increased intraocular pressure, CNS effects (especially in children) and anticholinergic systemic reactions. Handle with ocularagent precautions.
