Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Corticosterone alcohol is a reduced steroid intermediate used in glucocorticoid biosynthesis studies. It interacts with steroidogenic enzymes and helps map metabolic pathways from progesterone to active corticosteroids. It may also act as a weak ligand for glucocorticoid receptors.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in steroidogenesis modelling, enzyme‑kinetic research (11β‑HSD, 21‑hydroxylase), adrenal‑metabolism studies, receptor‑binding analysis and endocrine system pathway mapping.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include endocrine interference, skin irritation, mild CNS effects and hormone‑axis disruption at high doses. Handle under steroid‑compound precautions.
