Product Description

Mechanism of action

Betaine HCl serves as an acidifying agent and methyl-group donor. The hydrochloride salt provides a source of hydrogen chloride, lowering gastric pH when dissolved. Mechanistically, the betaine component participates in homocysteine remethylation, supporting SAM synthesis and methylation capacity.

Benefits and advantages

Widely used in research on gastric acidity, digestive physiology, pH-modulating excipients, methylation pathways and protein digestion studies. Useful in in vitro digestion models and controlled aciditybioavailability experiments.

Side effects and risks

Risks include mucosal irritation, reflux symptoms and potential over-acidification in concentrated solutions. Handle as a corrosive acidifying salt.

Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
