Product Description

Mechanism of action

Aminacrine hydrochloride is an acridine-based antiseptic and topical antimicrobial. It intercalates into bacterial and fungal DNA, disrupting nucleic acid replication and transcription, and also exerts detergent-like effects on cell membranes. These actions lead to loss of cellular integrity and inhibition of microbial growth.

Benefits and advantages

Aminacrine has been used in topical preparations for the cleansing and disinfection of superficial wounds, ulcers and mucous membranes. Its broad antimicrobial spectrum and local action make it suitable for inclusion in antiseptic solutions, creams or gels designed for external use.

Side effects and risks

Topical application can cause local irritation, staining of skin or mucosa and, in sensitised individuals, allergic contact dermatitis. Systemic absorption is minimal with correct use, but ingestion or exposure to large areas should be avoided. As a dye-like aromatic compound, aminacrine HCl should be processed with appropriate protective clothing and eye protection to prevent staining and irritation.

Professional use only. Supplied exclusively to licensed manufacturers and institutions.

Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
