ANASTROZOLE

Anastrozole is an aromatase inhibitor that reduces estrogen synthesis, used primarily in hormonereceptorpositive breast cancer. Benefits include improved survival and reduced recurrence risk. Side effects may include hot flashes, joint pain, decreased bone density, and fatigue. Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.

Product Description

Mechanism of action

Anastrozole is a selective, nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor that blocks the conversion of androgens (testosterone, androstenedione) into estrogens via inhibition of the cytochrome P450 enzyme CYP19A1. By reducing circulating estradiol levels, anastrozole strongly suppresses estrogendependent signaling in breast tissue and other estrogenresponsive organs. Its mechanism involves reversible competitive inhibition at the aromatase complex in peripheral tissues, especially adipose tissue, liver, and tumor cells.

Benefits and advantages

Anastrozole is widely used in endocrinerelated oncology research, particularly estrogenreceptor positive breast cancer models. The compounds selective action allows researchers to investigate hormonal pathways, estrogen depletion strategies, the interplay between ER signaling and tumor proliferation, and resistance mechanisms associated with longterm aromatase inhibition.

Side effects and risks

Risks include bone mineral density loss, arthralgia, hot flashes, hyperlipidemia, and possible cardiovascular strain. Laboratory handling requires strict control due to its potent endocrinemodulating activity.

Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
