Mechanism of action
Brucine sulfate is a watersoluble salt of brucine, maintaining its potent glycinereceptor antagonist properties. Increased solubility enables more controlled dosing in in vitro and mechanistic neurotoxicity studies.
Benefits and advantages
Used in ligandbinding studies, reflexarc modelling, inhibitory neurotransmission research, neuroexcitation assays and saltform comparisons of toxic alkaloids.
Side effects and risks
Risks identical to brucine: extreme CNS toxicity, seizures, respiratory failure and rapid onset of convulsive activity. Handle with strict toxicalkaloid containment and PPE.
