Product Description
Mechanism of action
Betaine choltartarate is a dual-component salt combining betaine with tartaric acid, enhancing solubility and stability. Mechanistically, it provides methyl-donor activity via homocysteine remethylation and may exert mild antioxidant or buffering effects due to the tartarate component.

Useful in solubilitybioavailability studies, methylation research, excipient-modelling, formulation science and osmoprotective pathway analysis. Its improved dissolution characteristics support cell-culture supplementation studies.
Side effects and risks
Risks are minimal but can include osmotic diarrhoea or mild gastric discomfort. Handle as an organic acid salt.
