Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Colistimethate sodium is an inactive prodrug converted to colistin (polymyxin E), a cationic lipopeptide antibiotic. Active colistin binds lipid A within gramnegative bacterial outer membranes, disrupting membrane integrity and causing rapid cell death. It is highly effective against multidrugresistant *Pseudomonas*, *Acinetobacter* and *Klebsiella* species.
Benefits and Advantages
Used in MDRpathogen modelling, polymyxinbinding studies, membranepermeabilization assays, endotoxin neutralization research and PK/PD evaluations in resistantbacteria simulations.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include nephrotoxicity, neurotoxicity, neuromuscular blockade and hypersensitivity. Handle with strict polymyxinsafety protocols.
Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
