Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Ciprofloxacin base is the nonsalt, freebase form of ciprofloxacin with identical mechanisms: inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, resulting in lethal disruption of DNA replication and repair. The base form is used in medicinalchemistry optimisation and solubilityprofile analysis.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in physicochemicalproperty studies, freebase/salt comparison research, fluoroquinolone SAR work, gyrasebinding analysis and formulation development.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks mirror ciprofloxacin salts: tendinopathy, neuropathy, CNS stimulation, hepatotoxicity and phototoxicity. Handle with quinolonecompound precautions.

Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
