Product Description
Mechanism of action
Cefpiramide is a thirdgeneration parenteral cephalosporin with broad gram-negative activity and a long elimination halflife. It binds PBPs and inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis. Its prolonged action makes it useful in sustained exposure PK/PD modelling and severe infection studies.
Benefits and advantages
Used in PK/PD research, gram-negative susceptibility assays, lactam resistance evaluation, nosocomial-infection modelling, and cephalosporin structural optimisation studies. Particularly valuable in studying time-dependent killing dynamics.
Side effects and risks
Risks include hypersensitivity, hepatic enzyme variations, GI disturbances and possible nephrotoxicity at high exposures. Handle with standard lactam precautions.
Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
