Cefalonium is a veterinary cephalosporin with potent gram-positive activity. It inhibits PBPs and disrupts peptidoglycan crosslinking, leading to rapid bacterial lysis. It demonstrates high stability in inflammatory environments and is used primarily in mastitis research.
