Mechanism of Action

Gabexate mesylate is the mesylate salt of gabexate, improving aqueous solubility for parenteral use while maintaining potent serine‑protease inhibition of trypsin, plasmin, kallikrein and thrombin. It modulates coagulation and inflammatory cascades in plasma.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in IV formulation research, DIC and pancreatitis models, kallikrein–kinin system studies and protease‑network analysis.

Side Effects and Risks

Possible hypotension, bleeding tendency, local venous irritation and allergic reactions. Handle as a parenteral protease inhibitor with appropriate hemostatic monitoring.
