Mechanism of Action
Furosemide sodium is a watersoluble salt form of furosemide, retaining full inhibition of the NaK2Cl cotransporter in the loop of Henle. The sodium salt improves solubility for injectable and concentrated formulations while maintaining potent loopdiuretic activity.

Used in parenteral formulation research, highsolubility diuretic studies, rapidonset diuresis modelling and NKCC2target assays.
Side Effects and Risks
Similar to furosemide: electrolyte depletion, dehydration, ototoxicity and hypotension. Handle with loopdiuretic precautions and careful doseresponse evaluation.
