Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Furosemide sodium is a water‑soluble salt form of furosemide, retaining full inhibition of the Na⁺‑K⁺‑2Cl⁻ cotransporter in the loop of Henle. The sodium salt improves solubility for injectable and concentrated formulations while maintaining potent loop‑diuretic activity.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in parenteral formulation research, high‑solubility diuretic studies, rapid‑onset diuresis modelling and NKCC2‑target assays.

Side Effects and Risks

Similar to furosemide: electrolyte depletion, dehydration, ototoxicity and hypotension. Handle with loop‑diuretic precautions and careful dose‑response evaluation.
