Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Furizazole is an imidazole‑like azole antifungal with a nitrofuran moiety that inhibits fungal cytochrome P450‑dependent 14‑α‑demethylase, blocking ergosterol biosynthesis and compromising cell‑membrane integrity. Additional nitrofuran‑based redox activity contributes to fungistatic or fungicidal effects.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in ergosterol‑pathway research, azole SAR studies, fungal redox‑stress modelling and combination antifungal testing.

Side Effects and Risks

Potential hepatic enzyme elevation, GI disturbances, skin reactions and nitrofuran‑associated genotoxicity concerns. Handle with azole‑nitrofuran dual‑mechanism precautions.
