Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Etanidazole is a nitroimidazole radiosensitizer that enhances tumour sensitivity to ionizing radiation. Inside hypoxic cells, it undergoes reductive activation producing free radicals that damage DNA and interfere with repair pathways.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in radiobiology‑model systems, hypoxia‑targeted therapeutic research, DNA‑damage‑repair assays, and radiosensitization studies.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include neuropathy, nausea, CNS effects and potential mutagenicity. Handle with nitroimidazole‑radiosensitizer precautions.
