Mechanism of Action
Erythrosine (FD&C Red No. 3) is a xanthene dye with strong iodinated fluoresceinlike chromophore activity. It absorbs visible light and fluoresces intensely, making it suitable in biological staining and photophysical studies. It interacts with proteins and membranes via electrostatic and hydrophobic forces.
