Mechanism of Action
Eprazinone is a nonopioid mucolytic and expectorant that reduces sputum viscosity by modifying the structure of mucopolysaccharides and enhancing surfactant production. It also exhibits mild antiinflammatory effects in the bronchial mucosa, improving ciliary clearance and facilitating productive cough without significantly depressing the cough reflex.
