Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Entecavir is a potent guanosine nucleoside analogue with high affinity for HBV DNA polymerase. It inhibits priming, reverse transcription of pregenomic RNA and synthesis of the positive DNA strand. It incorporates into viral DNA, causing chain termination. Exhibits strong activity against wild‑type and lamivudine‑resistant HBV.

Used in HBV replication‑pathway research, reverse‑transcriptase inhibition assays, nucleoside‑analogue SAR studies, and viral‑DNA polymerization modelling.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include lactic acidosis, hepatomegaly with steatosis, headache, fatigue and rebound hepatitis upon withdrawal. Handle with antiviral‑nucleoside precautions.
