Mechanism of Action
Elenbecestat is a potent BACE1 (β‑site amyloid precursor protein–cleaving enzyme 1) inhibitor designed to reduce production of amyloid‑β peptides. By blocking the rate‑limiting step in the amyloidogenic pathway, it lowers Aβ40/42 formation and modulates neurodegenerative processes relevant to Alzheimer’s disease.
