Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Econazole nitrate is an imidazole-class antifungal that inhibits fungal cytochrome P450dependent 14demethylase, a key enzyme in the ergosterol biosynthesis pathway. Blocking lanosterol demethylation disrupts membrane synthesis, increases permeability, and leads to fungal cell death. The nitrate salt enhances solubility and formulation stability.
Benefits and Advantages
Used in ergosterolpathway studies, azolemechanism assays, dermatophyte and yeast growthinhibition models, and antifungalresistance research.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include skin irritation, burning, pruritus, erythema and rare hypersensitivity. Handle with azolecompound precautions.
Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
