Mechanism of Action
Dexfenfluramine is a serotonergic appetitesuppressant that increases synaptic serotonin by inhibiting reuptake and enhancing release through 5HT transporter modulation. It also activates 5HTC receptors, decreasing appetiterelated signalling. Its use is mechanistically relevant due to effects on pulmonary vascular tone.
