Mechanism of Action
Cytidine base (cytosine) is a pyrimidine base that pairs with guanine in DNA and RNA. It participates in hydrogenbond formation, basestacking interactions and contributes to nucleicacid secondary structure. Cytosine is a key substrate for DNA/RNA methyltransferases and deaminases, driving epigenetic modifications (e.g., 5methylcytosine, 5hydroxymethylcytosine).
