Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Clopamide is a thiazide‑like diuretic that inhibits the Na⁺/Cl⁻ symporter (NCC) in the distal convoluted tubule, increasing sodium, chloride and water excretion. It also reduces peripheral vascular resistance with chronic use.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in electrolyte‑transport studies, diuretic‑pharmacology research, antihypertensive‑mechanism modelling and renal‑function pathway experiments.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include hypokalemia, hyponatremia, hyperuricemia, hypotension and metabolic disturbances. Handle with diuretic‑class safety guidelines.
