Mechanism of Action
Clomifene citrate is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that blocks estrogen feedback at the hypothalamus and pituitary, increasing GnRH secretion and stimulating LH/FSH release. This elevates follicular development and endogenous testosterone/estrogen production depending on the sex of the model organism.

Used in reproductiveendocrinology models, SERM pharmacology studies, gonadotropinregulation research, fertility pathway analyses and hormonal feedbackloop experiments.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include ovarian hyperstimulation, visual disturbances, mood changes, thromboembolic risk and abdominal discomfort. Handle as a hormonemodulating agent.
