Mechanism of Action
Cinepazide maleate is a vasodilatory agent that enhances cerebral and peripheral circulation. It inhibits phosphodiesterase activity, increasing intracellular cAMP and cGMP, promotes NO‑mediated vasodilation, and improves microvascular perfusion. It also modulates platelet aggregation and reduces vascular resistance.
Benefits and Advantages
Used in cerebrovascular‑disease modelling, microcirculation studies, endothelial‑function assays, PDE‑related pathway analysis, and ischemia research. Useful in multi‑target vasodilator SAR studies.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include hypotension, tachycardia, flushing, headache and rare arrhythmias. Handle with vasodilator‑compound precautions.
