Mechanism of Action
Cinacalcet hydrochloride is a calcimimetic agent that allosterically activates the calciumsensing receptor (CaSR) on parathyroid chief cells. By increasing the receptors sensitivity to extracellular calcium, it suppresses PTH secretion, modulates downstream calciumphosphate homeostasis, and influences boneremodelling pathways. It does not act as an agonist itself but enhances the receptors responsiveness to physiological ligands.
