Mechanism of Action
Chymotrypsinogen is the inactive zymogen precursor of chymotrypsin. It is activated by trypsin via cleavage of specific peptide bonds, producing chymotrypsin. Structural studies of the zymogen reveal conformational changes that enable catalytictriad activation upon processing.
