Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Chloroquine phosphate is a widely used salt form of chloroquine providing stable aqueous solubility. It accumulates in parasite vacuoles and mammalian lysosomes, impairing heme‑polymerisation, altering autophagic flux, and interfering with TLR‑mediated immune signalling. Also used to block viral entry via endosomal pH elevation.
Benefits and Advantages
Used in parasite‑metabolism modelling, host‑pathogen interaction research, autophagy and lysosome‑dysfunction studies, toll‑like receptor pathway analysis and antiviral‑screening platforms.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include retinopathy, cardiotoxicity, neuropsychiatric effects, GI symptoms and hepatic stress. Handle with high‑safety controls due to systemic toxicity.
