Product Description

Mechanism of action

Carbarsone is an organoarsenical compound historically used as an antiprotozoal and anthelminthic agent. It interferes with parasite energy metabolism by disrupting sulfhydryl‑dependent enzymatic pathways, impairing ATP production and compromising cellular integrity.

Benefits and advantages

Used in protozoal‑metabolism studies, arsenical‑compound mechanism research, parasite‑redox pathway modelling and comparative antiprotozoal SAR investigations.

Side effects and risks

Risks include systemic arsenic toxicity, hepatotoxicity, neuropathy, GI effects and potential carcinogenicity. Handle only with strict heavy‑metal and toxic‑compound containment.
