Product Description

Mechanism of action

Butriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) structurally related to amitriptyline but acting primarily as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor with weaker noradrenergic activity. It also antagonises muscarinic, histamine H and -adrenergic receptors, contributing to its sedative and anxiolytic properties.

Benefits and advantages

Used in depression-model research, serotonergicnoradrenergic interaction studies, TCA SAR profiling, receptor-binding assays and central-nervous-system behavioural pharmacology.

Side effects and risks

Risks include anticholinergic symptoms, QT prolongation, sedation, weight gain, cardiovascular effects and seizure risk at high doses. Handle with CNS-active and cardiotoxic-compound precautions.

Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
