Product Description

Mechanism of action

Betahistine hydrochloride provides a further stable salt form of betahistine with identical mechanisms of action—H₁ receptor agonism and H₃ autoreceptor antagonism—leading to improved histamine signalling and enhanced microvascular perfusion in vestibular structures.

Benefits and advantages

Applied in comparative salt-pharmacokinetic studies, receptor-binding assays, vestibular compensation modelling and neurochemical regulation of balance pathways. Offers consistent aqueous behaviour for formulation development.

Side effects and risks

Potential risks include headache, warmth sensation, mild gastric upset and rare hypersensitivity reactions. Handle as a CNS-active vestibular modulator.
