Product Description

Mechanism of action

Bepridil is a unique non-selective calcium-channel blocker that inhibits L-, T-, and N-type calcium channels, while also blocking sodium and potassium channels, giving it a broad electrophysiological footprint. The drug prolongs cardiac action potential duration and slows conduction, reducing myocardial oxygen demand and modifying arrhythmic activity.

Benefits and advantages

Highly valuable in electrophysiology research, ion-channel pharmacology, arrhythmia modelling, QT-prolongation studies and comparative multichannel-inhibitor testing. Bepridil is especially important in investigations of early afterdepolarisations and torsadogenic risk.

Side effects and risks

Risks include QT prolongation, torsades de pointes, hypotension, dizziness, and conduction block. Handle only under cardiac-active compound precautions with avoidance of inhalation or contamination.
