Mechanism of action
Aminopromazine fumarate is a phenothiazine tranquilliser functioning primarily as a dopamine D receptor antagonist, with secondary blockade of muscarinic, adrenergic and histamine H receptors. The combined receptor profile produces sedation, anxiolysis, antiemesis and behavioural suppression.

Used extensively in veterinary sedation and research models requiring controlled CNS depression. It provides reliable pre-anaesthetic calming and strong antiemetic effects, making it a useful comparator compound in neuropharmacology studies.
