Product Description

Mechanism of action

Adrenaline hydrochloride is a water‑soluble salt form of epinephrine suitable for injectable and topical preparations. It retains the full spectrum of adrenergic agonist activity, stimulating alpha‑ and beta‑adrenergic receptors to produce vasoconstriction, increased cardiac output and bronchodilation.

Benefits and advantages

The hydrochloride salt provides good aqueous solubility and stability for parenteral use. It is widely employed in emergency kits for anaphylaxis, advanced cardiac life support algorithms and as an adjunct to local anaesthetics to reduce systemic absorption and prolong duration of action.

Side effects and risks

Risks are identical to those of other adrenaline preparations: tachyarrhythmias, hypertension, myocardial ischaemia, anxiety and tremor, particularly at higher doses or in susceptible patients. Manufacturing and handling require controls to limit oxidation and ensure accurate dosing.

Professional use only. Supplied exclusively to licensed manufacturers and healthcare institutions.
