Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Galactane sulfate is a sulfated polysaccharide derived from marine or plant sources. Its bioactivity stems from its polyanionic sulfate groups, which interact with proteins involved in inflammation, coagulation, viral attachment and immune-cell signaling. These interactions modulate adhesion molecules, inhibit viral–cell fusion processes and alter complement activation pathways.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in glycan–protein interaction studies, antiviral screening, anticoagulant research, macrophage-modulation assays and biomaterial development.

Side Effects and Risks

Potential anticoagulant effects, hypersensitivity reactions and GI disturbances. Handle as a biologically active polysaccharide.
