Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Febuxostat is a selective nonpurine inhibitor of xanthine oxidase (XO). It blocks the conversion of hypoxanthine and xanthine into uric acid, lowering serum urate levels. It binds both molybdenumpterin and flavin adenine dinucleotide sites of XO.

Used in purinemetabolism research, gout pathophysiology modelling, XOinhibition assays, and oxidative stress mechanism studies.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include hepatic dysfunction, cardiovascular events, rash and rare severe hypersensitivity. Handle with xanthineoxidase inhibitor precautions.
