Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Everninomicin is an oligosaccharide antibiotic of the orthosomycin class that binds uniquely to the 50S ribosomal subunit at a site distinct from macrolides and aminoglycosides. By obstructing the peptidyl‑transferase center and disturbing 50S–30S subunit interactions, it inhibits bacterial protein synthesis with strong activity against multidrug‑resistant gram‑positive organisms.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in ribosomal‑binding site mapping, antimicrobial resistance‑mechanism studies, orthosomycin SAR research, and protein‑translation inhibition assays.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include bone‑marrow suppression, GI upset, hypersensitivity reactions and potential nephrotoxicity. Handle with high‑potency antibacterial precautions.
