Mechanism of Action
Etanercept is a fusion protein composed of the TNF receptor p75 linked to the Fc portion of IgG1. It binds soluble TNF and TNF, preventing their interaction with cellsurface receptors and inhibiting downstream NFBmediated inflammatory signalling. This reduces cytokinedriven inflammation in autoimmunedisease models.
