Mechanism of Action
Estramustine is a conjugate of estradiol and a nitrogen mustard. It binds microtubule‑associated proteins and disrupts microtubule dynamics, inhibiting cell division. The estrogen moiety enhances uptake into hormone‑responsive tissues.

Used in antimitotic research, prostate‑cancer modelling, microtubule‑interaction assays, and targeted cytotoxicity studies.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include thromboembolic events, gynecomastia, nausea, myelosuppression and cardiovascular effects. Handle with cytotoxic estrogen‑conjugate precautions.
