Mechanism of Action
Doxepin hydrochloride is a tricyclic antidepressant with strong antagonism of Hhistamine receptors and moderate inhibition of norepinephrine and serotonin reuptake transporters. It stabilizes mood through monoamine elevation and produces profound antihistaminic sedation due to its very high H affinity.
