Mechanism of Action
Dermatan sulfate is a glycosaminoglycan (GAG) composed of repeating L‑iduronic acid and N‑acetyl‑D‑galactosamine units. It binds growth factors, cytokines and extracellular matrix proteins, influencing wound healing, coagulation and fibrosis. It also interacts with heparin cofactor II, enhancing thrombin inhibition.
