Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Dacarbazine hydrochloride is an alkylating prodrug that is metabolised hepatically to MTIC (5(3methyl1triazeno)imidazole4carboxamide). MTIC decomposes to form a methyl diazonium ion that methylates DNA at the O6 and N7 positions of guanine, causing mispairing, strand breaks and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells.

Side Effects and Risks
