Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Clofoctol is a bacteriostatic antibacterial agent that disrupts bacterial protein synthesis by interacting with ribosomal subunits and impairing mRNA translation efficiency. It accumulates in lung and bronchial tissues, making it useful in respiratorypathogen research. Clofoctol also modulates endoplasmicreticulum (ER) stress signalling and may induce UPRmediated apoptosis in selected cellular models.

Used in respiratorypathogen modelling (*S. pneumoniae*, *H. influenzae*), ERstress pathway studies, proteintranslation research, intracellular drugaccumulation assays and membraneinteraction investigations.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include GI discomfort, allergic reactions, hepatic enzyme elevations and drowsiness. Handle with antibacterialagent precautions.
